Wampus Cats announce 2025 home schedule

The Uwharrie Wampus Cats are excited to announce their home schedule for this summer in what is shaping up to be an exciting third season. 

The team will again play 25 home dates at Don Montomery Park in downtown Albemarle with the home opener on Saturday, May 24, and games on Memorial Day, Father's Day, an Independence Celebration game on July 3, and more.

Another exciting development will be recent improvements being made to Don Montgomery Park, including brand new stadium lights thanks to the City of Albemarle. The Wampus Cats are also improving seating areas and adding a hospitality area, among other changes.

The team will face familiar opponents, including the Mooresville Spinners, Queen City Corndogs, Carolina Disco Turkeys, and others. They'll also start a new rivalry with an exciting new team in Southwest Virginia called the Marion Hungry Mothers that will make their home in a longtime New York Mets minor league facility where Nolan Ryan began his pro career. The Cats will unveil their full schedule soon, highlighted by trips to face the High Point-Thomasville Hi-Toms, the Boone Bigfoots, and more. The postseason tournament will be in late July. Single-game tickets will go in sale in late April.

"We're very excited to be playing so many important dates on the calendar at home in 2025," said team president and owner Greg Sullivan. "We've got Memorial Day, Father's Day and July 3 at home and play a lot of challenging teams. That combined with everything new at the facility is sure to make for a memorable summer for our local fans and players."

Tony Villar will serve as general manager of the team in 2025 and former Wampus Cats player Bryson Bebber will take the reins as head coach.
